Limits

I understand limits fairly well. It is just that when it comes to tests I always forget how to do what I've learned.
I believe there are a few problems that i have with limits.
lets see.....
Oh i know.
  1. I'm having a little bit of trouble solving limit equations involving sin cos tan etc.
  2. I'm also having trouble solving the word problems like on pg. 92 numbers 23-28. I tried them and it took me forever and i solved some of them but i skipped a few.
  3. I am also having trouble determining when a limit doesn't exist.
I hope someone can help me because I don't want to fail. This could be the first class I fail if I don't learn these things.

  1. hahah i have a feeling that we'll be using limits for a long time so better get it now. and bout number 3.. i make mistakes by putting 0 when limit does not exist.
i think the limit doesn't exist when the function is not continuous. like theres a jump. or the lines go different directions at the point.

  2. 1. If you are trying to take the limit of any trig function by itself as x approaches infinity, the limit DOESNT EXIST because of those oscillations. However, the limit of (sinx)/x, the limit DOES exist so these are what we are looking for.

    3. trig functions as x--> infinity are examples of non-existing limits because no matter how large or small x gets, the outputs keep oscillating back and forth.
